Beauty

By Dan Gagne (tweaked from Coldplay’s “Yellow”)

Look at the moon,
shines on the lake for you.
And everything you do,
Yes, He knows your beauty.

I came along,
I wrote a song for you.
And all the things you do,
it was called beauty.

It’s been twenty five fast years.
Oh, all the things we’ve done
and it was all beauty.

Your face,
yes your beauty, my Bev,
turns into something beautiful.
D’you know, you know I love you so
You know I love you so.

I swam across,
I jumped across for you.
Oh, all the things you do,
cause you are all beauty.

I drew a line,
I drew a line for you.
Oh, what a thing to do,
and it is all beauty.

Your face,
yes your beauty, my Bev,
turns into something beautiful.
D’you know, for you I’d give it all up,
for you, I’d give it all up.

It’s true, look how it shines for you.
Look, how it shines for you,
look, how it shines for you,
look, how it shines for you,
look, how it shines for you,
look, how it shines.
Look at the moon, shines on the lake for you,
and all the things that you do.

Who are You?

By:  Dan Gagne

I listened closely to many,
many talks about you.
I read not only the bible,
but a lot of books too.

I put the words I heard
and all the common beliefs
ahead of what my heart knew,
such a long long time ago.

Are you really three,
only three?
Or are you far more
than only three?

Are you Jesus Christ,
the one who gave himself?
Or was Jesus a man,
fully man with a message?

Is the spirit you,
the holy spirit who loves?
Where did you come from
and where are you now?

Are you a father that loves
or only when you want?
Are you a father to fear,
when are you and when are you not?

Is Jesus the man of three
as is the holy spirit?
What about the father,
Who is he in the three?

I heard a new voice,
deeper in my heart.
God of freedom,
God of love.

For some, you are father,
for others, son.
For some, you’re a loving daughter,
and for others, a mom.

Some see you as a grandma,
others like a grandpa.
Maybe like auntie Alice,
or maybe like their uncle.

Everybody has a picture,
Of who you are, God.
Some are of love,
some are not.

A picture of someone,
who is all about love.
That’s who you are, God.
For me and for all.

Prayer

by Dan Gagne

When I see the blessings,
I don't thank God for them.
When I'm drowning in troubles,
I don't blame God for them.

When I think about these blessings,
I realize they come from choices.
When I consider all these choices,
some are mine, and most are others'.

When the troubles seem too much,
they too, come from choices.
Thinking about these choices,
some are mine, and most are others'.

Circumstances come and go,
and most are beyond our control.
I don't thank God for the blessings,
I don't blame God for the troubles.

I thank God, not for blessings,
I thank god, for creating me.
He gave me freedom to choose,
and He gave me strength to endure.

I don't ask God for blessings,
because He lets it all be.
Not for strength and endurance,
He already gave these to me.

When I reflect in the moment
that He knows about the blessings,
I see his smile and his heart,
and I'm reminded He loves me.

When I reflect in the moment
that He sees all the troubles,
I see his cry and his heart,
and I'm reminded He loves me.
